Governance Structure
The UK Healthy Cities Network Structure is illustrated in the Organogram below.

The Network is made up of member cities and towns. Each member has a nominated Coordinator who is the main point of contact for the Network and a lead Politician who participates in the Political Group.
The Network is overseen by a Steering Group who is responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance to the Network. It also has a group of Expert Advisers who offer high-level support and ‘horizon scanning’ to the Steering Group and the Coordination Team in relation to current policy developments and national programmes of work that are relevant to the Network.
Task and Finish Groups work on specific tasks on behalf of the Steering Group and /or the Network membership when additional, focussed and/or specialised capacity is required to complete a task. They are time-limited groups and membership is open to all member cities and towns.
Thematic sub-groups are set up to facilitate Network members working collaboratively on specific themes. Their role is to lead in the development of guidance materials, capacity building sessions, collective responses to consultations and Network ‘position statements’ in relation to relevant policy. Each thematic sub-group is different and free to agree its own, more defined role and purpose as part of its terms of reference. For more information visit the Network Themes pages.
The Coordination Team supports and facilitates all aspects of the Network’s activities by providing effective and dynamic leadership to the Network in pursuit of its vision and aims. The team is responsible for delivering the Network’s work plan.
